Playlists: Easter 2012
Easter Playlist 2012
Easter is definitely a big deal at our house! But, do you know what else is a big deal at our house? Playlists. We always have a seasonal playlist going, we have a top 40 playlist once a month, we have holiday playlists- we love playlists. We both love music so much that we always spend time thinking about what music we will listen to and when. Since Easter is such a big deal for us because we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection then you can imagine that we have a big playlist for it. We do. Our Easter playlist this year was 128 tracks long (and Kari updates and edits our standing playlists once a year).
We thought that we would share with you the best of our Easter playlist. (It was going to only be the top 20 tracks but the lowest we could cut it to was 40. We’re a little exhausted from the weekend and have a busy week coming up!) We hope that this list will remind you of some favorites or maybe introduce you to some new music. And who doesn’t love finding great new music!

We like a wide variety of praise music. Kari grew up in the south and loves gospel music and traditional hymns. And RJ grew up Presbyterian so he also loves traditional hymns but being a Johnny Cash fan has given him an appreciation for the gospel sound as well. We both love a lot of contemporary music- Third Day, Casting Crowns, Addison Road, Chris Tomlin, etc. We started attending a church last year where we discovered all kinds of wonderful music (thanks, Dawn!). And the piece from the Nutcracker- it’s beautiful, exuberant and almost royal sounding which makes it perfect to honor Jesus. In case you can’t tell we love music!
How about all of you wonderful readers? What’s your favorite Easter song? Tell us!

That is a great list. I love He’s Alive. I think my very favorite is The Old Rugged Cross.
Thanks, Dorothy! Yes, I need to get a good version of that. It’s definitely a great song.
